uBukwa Zimbali Guesthouse is a registered Award Leader and Activity Centre for The President's Award for Youth Empowerment

About Zimbali: Zimbali is in one of the three remaining coastal forests in KwaZulu-Natal, which harbours a wealth of natural water and is rich in plant life , bird and animal wildlife allowing participants to interact with nature. Participants will explore this diverse coastal forest by adventuring into the 6 Nature Trails covering a total of 16kms. The eastern frontage of the estate comprises a 3 km stretch of unspoilt beach forming a natural golden boundary between the rich green forest and the warm blue Indian Ocean. Silver and Gold participants can look forward to a beach evening event with a beach CampOut.

Zimbali's ethos is , 'Living in Harmony with Nature'. Therefore the design philosophy in Zimbali is to create a balance with nature. At Zimbali, the overwhelming vista is one of natural beauty, ecological richness and biological diversity. You will be nestled in an expanse of Lush Indigenous Coastal Forest offering you to experience a luxurious ecological haven. A 50 hectare reserve within the resort in addition to all primary dune areas have been demarcated as conservation areas providing a refuge to the rich variety of local flora & fauna. Limited pathways and wooden viewing decks through out these areas will afford you a unique opportunity to interact directly with nature.

Zimbali has several natural spring water lakes which creates a beautiful habitat to an array of bird life, hosts of butterflies and a wide variety of indigenous plant life. Animal life within the forest reserve include bush buck, blue duiker, bushbaby, vervet monkey, banded mongoose and even wild pig.
